The Mask of Genesis challenges the viewer to confront Satoshi Nakamoto face to face. It compels viewers to introspect, challenging their very identity in relation to Bitcoin and probing the depths of their connection to this transformative innovation. Rather than presenting a complete reflection, the piece mirrors individuals in fragmented blocks reminiscent of the blockchain itself. This fractured perspective not only offers a glimpse into the essence of Bitcoin but also grants the viewer a sense of pseudonymity, mirroring one of Bitcoin's intrinsic features.

Each mirror tile bears the etched imprints of Bitcoin's genesis through block 144, meticulously hand-cut and arranged in sequential order to form the enigmatic visage of Satoshi. The piece itself is testament to proof of work - tiny traces of Rebel Money’s own blood are visible, immortalised within the adhesive securing the mask's components during an accident during its creation.

Furthermore, the piece dynamically responds to Bitcoin's price fluctuations. A sophisticated array of 266 individually addressable LEDs illuminates the mask, turning green to signify price increases, red for downturns, and orange to mark the mining of a new block. These captivating light effects are fully customisable, allowing collectors to tailor their experience directly from their smartphones, adding an extra layer of interactivity and allure.
