Description:
The Bitcoin Full Node Sculpture #2 of 10
The Bitcoin Full Node Sculpture is a cypherpunk chronometer, a physical manifestation of Bitcoin’s architecture of time. Designed to work as a fully functioning Bitcoin full node and block explorer, it translates the architecture of Bitcoin from code into sculptural form. Inspired by the ancient astrolabe, the sculpture serves as a compass for the modern bitcoiner. Each new block is a tick of the Clock, the network’s steady, unbroken heartbeat.
Meticulously assembled from a diverse selection of woods, the work draws strength and contrast from the natural variations of its materials. The layered woods portray the architecture of Bitcoin itself, a system built from code, consensus, and time.
Edition 2 of 10 is one of only three existing versions of the artist’s original full-node design, composed of layers of perfect circles. In later editions, the geometry evolved, introducing complex layered shapes, and bringing the design into a new conceptual framework. As one of the early continuous-circle works, Edition 2 embodies the sculpture’s foundational theme: the unbroken flow of time and consensus that defines Bitcoin itself.
On 3 October 2025, Edition 2 was personally inspected and authenticated by the artist, FractalEncrypt, who added engraved Bitcoin symbols and replaced the halving-equation laminate after testing thirteen potential variations. The final selection offered sharper definition and enriched coloration. The artist noted that he rarely has the opportunity to revisit earlier works, describing this refinement as a reminder that “a work is never truly complete.”
